BACKGROUND HISTORY OF WERFEN

Werfen, part of WerfenLife, is a privately owned multinational company founded in 1966 and with its global headquarters in Barcelona (Spain). The Company has three main business lines: Specialty In Vitro Diagnostics  (IVD), Medical Devices and Life Science, where the IVD business is accountable for an 81% of the total revenue of the WerfenLife. With the focus on the development, manufacture and marketing of medical technology products it is currently ranked amongst the top ten players within the IVD sector worldwide.

In 2014 with presence in more than 30 countries and in other 80 countries through distributors, Werfen has more than 4.400 employees and revenues over one billion euros. The geographical distribution of these revenues worldwide is Europe (46%), North America (23%), Asia Pacific (13%), Latin America (9%), and Rest of the World (9%).
